Welfare Section

The Welfare wing is headed by a welfare officer who is assisted by Welfare assistant and other subordinate staff. The Welfare wing is responsible to look after the welfare of the staff and for this purpose various activities are undertaken and programmes are organized by them.

Welfare Activities

  • The office has made arrangements for weekly visits of a doctor for general health check up of the employees. The doctor visits the office every Tuesday.

  • This office had organized two Health Awareness Programmes one on 15th December 2005 and another on 14th June 2006 at the Millinimium Hall of this office with the cooperation of Superintendent of Sambhunath Pandit Hospital and Lady Duffrin Victoria hospital, Kolkata (both state govt. hospitals) respectively. The eminent medical education faculties of various stream delivered their valued lecture on general health and prevention of common diseases.

  • As a part of disaster management, First Aid Fire Fighting Awareness Week was observed on and from 24th July, 2006 to 28th July, 2006 under the direct supervision of Kolkata Central Division – I, CPWD, Kolkata. Experts deputed from CPWD had made demonstration including live demonstration how to operate the existing fire extinguishers. About 250 officers and member of staff were participated during this awareness week.

  • To encourage the culturally literate officials of D.G.A (C), Kolkata arrangement has been made to publish quarterly a wall magazine named as “Srijani Wall Magazine” with the direct supervision of the welfare officer. Arrangements have also been made to publish. This magazine in a consolidated form. Latest publication was made upto 31-12-2005.

  • This office observed Sadbhavana Diwas and pledge was taken by the Director General of Audit (Central), Kolkata on 18th August 2006 in the memory of Birth Anniversary of Late Rajiv Gandhi.

  • This office observed Communal Harmony Fortnight from 20th August 2006 to 5th September 2006 to maintain communal Harmony in every steps of life as also in this office. The officers and staff members of this office conducted cultural programmes on this issue.

  • The office organized a Vigilance Awareness Week from 6th November to 10th November and organized various functions to mark the occasion. The first day the members of staff took a pledge as per directives of Central Vigilance Commission . On the second day Commissioner of Police Kolkata, Shri Prasum Mukherjee and Jt. Commissioner of Income Tax Shri Sujit K. Mukherjee delivered speeches on the Vigilance Awareness and Related Issues. Other programmes during the week included recitation , play and speeches by members of the office.

The Treasury Building Institute, Kolkata is the nodal agent of the Sports Activities of this office. They organize all types of sports activities behalf of O/o the D.G.A.(C), Kolkata. Welfare
