Inauguration of Audit Eye and Renovated Office Canteen Newly Renovated Office Canteen


In a simple ceremony on 19th February 2007 Shri Arijit Ganguli, Principal Accountant General (Audit) West Bengal , inaugurated the audit journal ‘AUDIT EYE’. Shri Benjamin Lakra, AG(A&E) West Bengal, Ms. Aditi Raichoudhuri , Ms. Madhumita Basu, PDA( Metro Railways), Shri Bathew, PDA(Eastern Railways) were also present on the occasion.
Explaining the concept and need for this new journal, PDA(Central), Shri Govinda Bhatacharjee, said that the journal will fill in the much needed platform for the R&D in the Audit and Accounts Department. It will provide a forum for the staff and officers to discuss, review and analyze the subjects related with the work of the Department. He also said that starting a journal is an easy task but sustaining it with quality content and regular periodicity not so easy. He requested all present to contribute for the journal. However, he reiterated that the two essential conditions of originality and analyze with actual data are required for all contribution for the journal. In the beginning Audit Eye will be a six monthly journal and depending on availability of content the periodicity can be changed.

On the same day Principal Accountant General also inaugurated the newly renovated Office canteen for the office of DGA(Central) Kolkata. The canteen is equipped with modern gadgets like dish washer, hot plate, Ben Marie, rice boiler etc. Canteen staff has been trained in use of these machines and also for cooking in a healthy and hygienic manner. Strict supervision procedures and quality control mechanisms have been put in place to ensure adherence to cleanliness, hygiene and quality of food. The office canteen will function to provide of less oil, less spice, simple but healthy food at the right price.

A canteen committee of the office will recommend for the pricing, supervision and menu related matters of the canteen.
